Thank you for being interested in finding out who I am.
I was born and grew up in Juárez, México surrounded by books and real estate transactions. My Dad opened the first and largest bookstore in Juárez. He kept it open for 50 years, until he could no longer tend to it. He also invested in real estate which eventually he would rent and sell. My Father was a very wise man.
These real estate activities defined my character from a very young age. The ability to interact with people during business transactions has literally been in my blood.
I went on to get a Master's degree in playing the Classical Organ, and a Bachelor's in Piano. I'm also a CPA.
But those activities are not in the "people business." I love to interact with people and put to use my ingrained attitude of being helpful, thorough, efficient and attentive to people's needs.
When I married I moved to the States so I had the opportunity to spend a lot of my formative years as a young adult learning "The American Way" of doing things. And that has served me well throughout my life. I became a Naturalized American Citizen along the way, so I have dual citizenship.
When I moved to Rosarito 5 years ago, supposedly to "retire," I found myself bored with the beautiful sunsets, the wonderful food, the magic of only having to pay 1/3 for living expenses than what I was paying in the States, the better quality of life with the laid-back lifestyle....so the natural remedy was to go back to my real estate foundation and get again in the "people business."
I have since taken many real estate courses to prepare further for serving my clients' needs. I love to learn, love to do research, love Rosarito and all of Baja, and love to meet with clients to show them the beauties of my little piece of earthly paradise in my beloved México.
I joined the very prestigious National Association of Mexican Realtors (AMPI) and the local branch, AMPI Rosarito, which is the counterpart of the National Association of Realtors in the US (NAR), both of which have a very strict Code of Ethics for their members. I am honest, thorough, and fully dedicated to serving my clients, from start to finish, and even more so after the sale, to help clients find their way in a new environment, sometimes in a language that they don't understand.
Please click here to read what our Code of Ethics means to you, the consumer.
That is important to you, the real estate buyer or seller of property. You want to deal with someone who is honest, who knows what they're doing because they have done it themselves, and that is bound by a Code of Ethics. You don't want to deal with someone who is selling lots out of the trunk of their car; or who tells you that a handshake is sufficient to consider a transaction legal.
First of all, that way of "making real estate deals" in México is long gone, rightfully so, for there were many abuses and frauds. And secondly, we do have laws in México that govern everything we do. If you buy real estate from someone who is a fly-by-night, who tells you that what that person sold you was actually theirs to sell and the transaction is actually legal?
If you are selling real estate, who tells you that someone who doesn't belong to a reputable realty agency, who doesn't belong to a realtor's association, and, the cherry on the top: who does not have the approval of NAR is actually filing the real estate paperwork in the government offices? What is stopping that person from running away with your money and you end up with nothing?
You must deal with someone who is invested in the community....who owns a home here, which means we are not going to disappear overnight. You want someone on your side who has spent the time to apply and compare their personal experience to what the law says.
THAT PERSON IS ME!
When I moved here, I had to learn everything from scratch and had nobody to help me in this process. The realtor who sold me my beautiful 3,600 sq.ft. oceanfront condo was from the States and didn't even want to make his way the 20 miles down to Rosarito to seal the deal; I had to go to Tijuana. He wasn't even allowed to sell real estate in México because he wasn't registered with Hacienda (the tax man) and wasn't legally here because he didn't have a México Visa to neither live here let alone to do business here (different Visa), which is worse.
But what did I know. I wish I knew then what I know now.
So I was literally "dumped" here without knowing anybody, the rules of the real estate game changed from when I was a little girl and my Dad did all the dealings with the authorities, so found myself completely lost though I am Mexican and speak the language.
I promised myself that I would never allow anyone I know to have to go through all of that alone. So you have my promise that my follow-up to the real estate sale, or even rental, of the property, is that I will be here to show you around, take you by the hand to deal with connecting the services/utilities for your property, handle the legalities, tell you which are the best (and the not-so-good) restaurants to go to, where to go to take a mini-vacation, etc. All the little details that make for a beautiful life without stress.
I've kept my promise, as you can see in my Testimonials page. Allow me to use all those experiences in your favor by hiring me as a Realtor for you.
It is very important that when you choose someone to help you find the home of your dreams, that the "someone" has had first-hand experience in doing what you are going to be facing in real estate transactions. I have it. And I earned it "the hard way." Don't reinvent the wheel; hire me because I can make the real estate process simple and enjoyable for you. With all legal aspects of the transaction completely covered. No fears, just enjoyment.
There are aspects of real estate sales that seem pretty simple. But there are many elements of a smooth transaction, however, that are complicated and daunting.
I can help you with every aspect of buying or selling your home because I’m experienced, because I’m professional . . .and because I care.
Buying a new home in Rosarito, Tijuana, Ensenada or Playas de Tijuana in Baja California, México is all about making the best real estate decisions, and you can only make the best decision when you have all the best information available.
I help home buyers make informed decisions to ensure a smooth transition during the entire buying experience. I can help you make real estate decisions based on location, the market, financing options, the condition of a home and its real price as distinct from its sale price, what "extras" to negotiate for, which service providers to use, and more. In addition, I will do a lot of the legwork for you so you save time, money and energy.
So if you're thinking about buying real estate, please call or email me any time. My services don't cost you anything, whereas if you performed them yourself you'll have the lack of expertise and the expense of your time and money. I guarantee that you will like the result, without the hassle. That's a pretty good deal, don't you think? I wish I'd had someone to guide me when I bought real estate here.
If you are selling your home in Rosarito, Tijuana, Ensenada or Playas de Tijuana in Baja California, I can start by helping you with many tips that will enhance the allure of your home to potential real estate buyers. Except for a rare buyer, most people react emotionally to the condition of a home. A product that has emotional or psychological appeal is important. "Plums always sell, so make your property into a plum" is the philosophy of professional sellers.
I am your professional real estate seller.
I can help you turn your real estate property into a plum; I have the know-how and the experience to help you make your home more marketable. The age-old observation that "you never get a second chance to make a first impression" certainly applies when it comes to attracting buyers to a home for sale. Making a good first impression can mean the difference between receiving serious offers for your home or being subjected to months of lookie-loos dropping by but never buying.
I am much experienced in real estate and when you're ready, I promise that I'll find you the best property for your budget. I like to bring my clients as close to the ocean as possible within their budget.
I want to be your exclusive realtor.
We are a very tightly-knit realtor community in Rosarito, with the same connections to realtors in Ensenada, Tijuana, Playas de Tijuana, Mexicali, all of México and the US, through the Associations of Realtors we belong to. If the realtor (or his/her Broker) you've chosen is not a member of any of the associations, be extra careful for they are not bound by a Code of Ethics like we are.
We realtors sometimes find ourselves dealing with the same client. This doesn't benefit anybody. The client thinks that in this manner they broaden their horizons and cover more territory but that's not true.
We are all on the same system, which is similar to the MLS in the States, so we all "see" the same real estate properties and can offer each other's properties as well. That's how you can use my expertise to your benefit. If I don't have listed what you're looking for, I can call the other realtor and find out what's going on with a certain property, etc. I can ask if that other realtor has any properties that are not listed yet but are for sale/rent. I have the connections and the structural real estate bureacracy to wade my way through.
It is a waste of everybody's time to go the route of having many realtors working for you. There are only so many real estate properties out there. I, and anybody else, is going to offer you the same properties. So we the realtors wasted our time in looking for the same thing and you, the client, wasted your time in going to see the same property you already saw with somebody else for you may not recognize the address or other indicators that it's not different.
The difference between realtors is SERVICE. I offer unequaled real estate service, complete knowledge of the market and the properties, and the expertise to carry the transaction through.
Regarding buying directly from an owner......I wouldn't do that, and not because I'm a realtor.
How do you know that the person selling the real estate is actually the owner? How do you know that the paper s/he's presenting you with is legal? Do you have the expertise necessary to tell the difference between a legal paper in México and one that is not? How do you know that the real estate property is free of liens and encumbrances?
Yes, you can go to the city and state governments to find out. Do you know where those offices are and that it costs money, lots of time and effort to get that information? It's not easy to deal with governmental procedures. They keep you coming and going many times over. Do you know what it is to deal with the government and all the red tape? Perhaps in a language you don't know?
Why would you want to put yourself through those paces when you can sit with friends by the ocean with a Margarita in your hand watching the sunset while I do all the work? What I offer you as a professional realtor is a transaction that will be legal, reviewed by real estate lawyers, and all the due diligence actually done.
I ask that you please let me be your exclusive realtor. I will work very hard for you. But if you are not serious and decide to test the waters by getting several realtors to do the work, I apologize for I will have to decline the offer to help you.
As a full-service real estate agent, invested member of the community, full time owner of my only home, with experience in Rosarito, Tijuana, Ensenada & Playas de Tijuana real estate in Baja California, México, I have a significant advantage over less-experienced and less-connected agents.
Give me a call today and let's get started on this marvelous adventure!
