Spring Break in Rosarito Beach, Baja, México!

Dear friends,

It's been a while since I've written.  After Epiphany I took a break but am now back and ready!  Found this article in a blog and thought it wonderful to share with you!

Velia Amparo

Your Spring Break in Rosarito Beach México begins with a breathtakingly beautiful scenic drive alongside the sparkling waters of the Pacific - what more could you desire to put you in the mood for a great vacation? Rosarito Beach is fast becoming the most popular Spring Break destination there is, and not without good reason.

From as far back as the 1920s, there's been a distinctly glamorous and enchanting feel to Rosarito Beach, México.

In those days, it was the ultimate celebrity hideaway, the exotic and relaxing beach paradise frequented by the likes of Rita Hayworth and her husband, Prince Aly Khan. And if it's good enough for the stars, there's got to be something special about Spring Break in Rosarito Beach!

Nowadays, it's a well-known filming location: "Titanic", for example, was shot here in 1996. The Fox Studios (just south of downtown), you'll even be able to see a movie museum, but they are closed for renovations and preparations for a new movie to be filmed.

Given its history as a Hollywood star hangout, it's no surprise that Rosarito Beach quickly became a popular vacation destination. Not only is it conveniently located only 20 miles south of the US border, but it has one of the most agreeable climates in the world, generally described as "perfect": clear blue skies and temperatures in the 70s/80s practically all year round. Perfect for lazing on those sandy beaches, perfect for splashing around in those crystal clear waters, perfect for your Rosarito Beach Spring Break, wouldn't you say?

And there's no shortage of things to do in Rosarito Beach. Watersports fans will love the fabulous surfing opportunities available here - some of the most famous and popular surf spots around. It's also fun to check out the local shops and markets. Colorful, noisy, crowded and busy, they're a great way to experience the local way of life, browse through traditional Mexican crafts, and pick up a bottle of your favorite perfume - duty-free, of course!

At night, there is just as much to do, and the influx of students who choose Rosarito as their Spring Break destination guarantees that the nightlife will be buzzing with vacationing youths all looking to have fun and meet new people. The open-air cantinas on the beaches are particularly popular, with all kinds of activities from mechanical bulls to volleyball, and music from a DJ.

And one final word - don't neglect to visit Puerto Nuevo, the world-famous "Lobster Village" just south of Rosarito, where the lobster is so indescribably good that tourists come from all over the world to sample it in one of over forty restaurants all serving the same thing! Good food, good weather, good people, good fun- all good reasons to choose Rosarito Beach for your Spring Break!

Entregan Juguetes a Niños Rosaritenses, Rosarito, Baja California, México

Since this is going to be a night of celebration, here are some low-calorie drinks that are delicious for you to celebrate with, as well as some good advice if you go to a party: I read somewhere yesterday that if you're faced with lots of food that is not going to help you achieve your goal, to keep one hand occupied at all times with a drink!  But a low-calorie drink, that is, one of the ones I'm listing below the picture.

The reason that I'm blogging the recipe-a-day is because I want to attract people to my real estate website to see the wonderful opportunities I have for sale.  Please go see my featured property of the day:  http://bit.ly/anlhrgThis is a sweet home that has a gorgeous panoramic view of the ocean from the top of a hill. THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS of Rosarito, Baja California, México – Day 1

Hello everybody,

I trust that everyone had a wonderfully Merry and Holy Christmas!

Happy Day-after-Christmas = the 1st Day of Christmas!

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me:   A Partridge in a Pear Tree!

The 12 Days of Christmas are not, like most people believe, the 12 days preceding Christmas, but the 12 days between Christmas Day and Epiphany. I posted a couple of links yesterday that explain this better than I could.

Please go see my featured property of the day: http://bit.ly/baSRHh . Calafia Paradise Resorts is a very nice development to the South of downtown Rosarito.  It is on a point so it's got a gorgeous view.  Do follow the link to read all about this great urban-contemporary property that is excellent for entertaining in style and call me at US 619.632.4909 for an appointment to go see it!

Well, now that we've indulged in all kinds of cookies for 25 days, gained all kinds of weight (but did it "yummily") and that we need to get back to reality, this series of 12 recipes is going to be about healthy food that is tasty and satisfying.  Most of them will be main dishes but some will be soups, or even a chocolate dessert!

So this is the first one.  And, as before, just click on the picture and it'll take you to the website.  You'll have to go to it to find nd out what this delicious-looking dish is!

I chose this first recipe simply because I'm cold Storm.  I'm spending the Holidays in Seattle, WA with my youngest Son and his family, but I'm no longer used to the cold...brrrr.

I'm also including an attachment to this post because it is something that made a lot of sense to me and I hope you enjoy it too.  It's called: "The Top 7 Things You Didn't Know about Food and Mood."  You can also find it at: http://bit.ly/ev7OGC .

Please visit my website often: http://www.bajaoceanside.com/ and write me at: velia.in.baja@gmail.com or call me at: US 619.632.4909 to set up an appointment to go together to find the home of your dreams in our beautiful Baja!

Day 25 of 25 Days of Christmas Cookie Recipes for Baja California, México! MERRY, HOLY CHRISTMAS!

Hi everyone,

Day 25 - MERRY CHRISTMAS! And here's the twenty-fifth one.....just click on the picture and it'll take you to the website.  You'll have to go to it to find out what these cookies are!

I will start another series tomorrow, the "TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS for Baja California, México" in keeping with the Calendar.  So let's start singing the song and enjoy the 12 days of Christmas until Epiphany (also known as "Three Kings Day") on January 6. If you'd like to read about the "Twelve Days of Christmas" tradition, please follow this link: http://www.brownielocks.com/twelvedaysofchristmas.html .  And whether you believe the story or Snopes which contradicts it, let's just enjoy the wonderful song!

Also, "Three Kings Day" or "Epiphany," as you may decide to call it, is when the children of México receive their gifts.  If you'd like to read why, please follow this link: http://bit.ly/4GwuNg .

Keep coming back and getting these delicious recipes so you may bake or eat them while you search my website and contact me to go together to find your dream home in Baja!

ENJOY and don't forget to share your goodies with me for I'll be so busy blogging, that I won't have time to bake!!!!

TIP: Not actually "cakes" at all, these sweet, crunchy snacks are tossed in a generous dusting of powdered sugar. Traditional versions are made with almonds; this recipe substitutes pistachios and dried tart cherries for deeper flavor.

Please visit my website: http://www.bajaoceanside.com/ and write me at: velia.in.baja@gmail.com to set up an appointment to find the home of your dreams in our beautiful Baja!
